Exploring Urban Sports in Bangkok
Energy and Encounters
For Philipp Reinhard, Bangkok is a city brimming with dynamic energy and unexpected encounters. Street life, urban sports and fleeting moments create images that convey a sense of closeness in motion. Armed with his Leica SL3, the photographer and filmmaker accompanies athletes around the Thai capital, capturing stories that unfold unplanned, giving them an authentic feel.
In the short film about the Leica SL3, Philipp describes his connection to photography, his fascination with urbanism, and why he still brings his camera along on his time off.
Philipp’s been involved in photography for half his life. His fascination started out on the streets: skateboarding, capturing remarkable moments, and meeting interesting people. He loves the urban, the unexpected, the new. His work makes room for happy accidents and remarkable encounters.
The street writes its own stories. Stories that can’t be planned. They just happen. As a photographer and filmmaker, Philipp is always in search of genuine people and special moments that mean something.
He’s worked with the Leica SL since the very first generation. For him, the SL is the perfect complement to the M and Q. He can always rely on it – for studio shoots, reportage, and film productions, or on trips.
What else comes to mind when he thinks of the Leica SL? “Intuitive, reliable, tiltable display! And gorgeous, of course.”
