Designed for Ease of Use

Customizable Down to the Last Detail

A camera that adapts fully to your way of working allows you to follow your intuition. This is why the Leica SL3-P is fully customizable in terms of both its operating logic and hardware. Functions in the Control Center can be arranged as you wish, dials can be assigned to frequently used settings, and setting wheels for photos and videos can be configured separately. The tilting LCD panel supports this principle further, allowing you to shoot from low angles, overhead, or in confined spaces. Spending less time in the camera menu means you can focus more on your subject.

Video Production Characterized by Complete Flexibility

Classic 16:9 playback, vertical formats, and slow motion. Modern video production demands flexibility as soon as you press record. The Leica SL3-P enables you to shoot video in up to 8K open gate in the native 3:2 format. This makes full use of the sensor possible, maintains a consistent view angle in photo mode, and gives you significantly greater freedom when selecting your frame later on. For smooth motion, 5.9K at 60p and 4K at 120p are available. One camera. Every format. Your story, your way.

Electronic Viewfinder and Displays

Precision starts in the viewfinder. The SL3-P’s electronic viewfinder features an OLED display with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels, operating at either 60 or 120 fps. The viewfinder has a magnification of 0.76x in 3:2 format and provides 100 percent field of view coverage. The optical glass eyepiece and virtually lag-free display provide an authentic image even during fast panning or when shooting moving subjects. The viewfinder is complemented by a 3.2-inch touchscreen monitor on the rear with 2.33 million pixels as well as a top status display showing key parameters.

Leica L-Mount

A lens standard offering endless possibilities. The L-Mount, developed by Leica, is an open and future-proof bayonet standard for cameras and lenses from various partners in the L-Mount Alliance. Thanks to its clearly defined technical standards, the L-Mount offers an exceptionally large selection of compatible components. This gives you maximum flexibility when putting together your customized system.

Video Formats, Codecs, and LUTs

For internal recording, MOV and MP4 are available in H.264 and H.265 as well as ProRes. Apple ProRes can be used for internal recording up to 5.8K. Internally, the camera offers either 8-bit or 10-bit recording, depending on the mode. It can output 10-bit signals via an HDMI 2.1 Type A port. The camera also supports HDMI RAW in 8K open gate. L-Log and HLG are available as image profiles, and Rec.709 and Rec.2020 color spaces are supported. Leica Pure, Leica Cine, and custom profiles can be used as LUTs for previewing and assessing the look, while False Color supports exposure control directly in the image.

Interfaces and Storage Media

The SL3-P features both an SD card slot (UHS-II/UHS-I) and a CFexpress Type B slot. The CFexpress card is ideal for high data rates, extended burst shooting and demanding video formats. The SD card offers broad compatibility for everyday use. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 Type A and USB-C 3.1 Gen2, which provides up to 10 Gbit/s for tethering, data transfer and power supply. Furthermore, there is a 3.5 mm microphone input, a 3.5 mm headphone output and a sync/timecode socket. It also features an ISO accessory shoe and an interface for the multifunction handgrip. This allows for flexible integration into photo, video and studio setups. Ready for everything that matters – and whatever the future may bring.
