Leica M11

A Legend Reinvented.

A legend reinvented.

Since 1954, Leica M-Cameras have been designed to meet genuine photographic needs. This has resulted in rangefinder cameras that deliberately do not offer everything that is technically possible, but are limited to what is photographically useful. True to this objective, the Leica M11 also strikes a perfect balance between long tradition and technical innovation. Its distinctive, iconic exterior design makes it one of the most compact full-frame camera systems in the world. However, the interior of the M11 has been reinvented completely, combining the unique experience of traditional rangefinder photography with the latest camera technology for maximum flexibility. And its exceptional compactness makes it the ideal equipment for travel and reportage photography.

Iconic Design

The Leica M-Family is known for its premium look and feel. With a carefully optimized design and the use of high-quality aluminium for the top cover, the black Leica M11 is focused on efficiency and ergonomics, with noticeably less weight. Together with the new scratch-resistant matte paint finish, the black M11 is about 20% lighter than the silver-chrome version, which features a classic solid brass top cover.

The M-Sensor

Stay flexible and choose from 60, 36 or 18 Megapixel resolution for DNG and JPG: The exclusively developed Full Frame BSI CMOS Sensor with Triple Resolution Technology in the M11 is a masterpiece of imaging technology. With its new filter technology, the M11 produces brilliant images when combined with the legendary Leica M-lenses. And for the first time, multi-field light metering while shooting in rangefinder mode allows Leica M photographers to concentrate even more on their subject, and less on light metering.

Maestro III Processor

The fluid and responsive operation of the M11 is in part thanks to the powerful Maestro III processor. Its advanced algorithm enables the M11 to produce images with three different resolutions always using the full sensor and delivering unprecedented digital image quality. This incredible processor allows you to shoot nearly endlessly even at 36 Megapixel DNG resolution.

Wide ISO- and Dynamic Range

The M11 is impressive in every lighting environment. With its Dual Pixel Gain technology, the M11 offers a dynamic range of up to 15 stops at ISO 64. Every shot shows the finest tonal separations and very low noise with a natural and elegant look. The maximum sensitivity of ISO 50,000 enables you to take pictures even in extremely low light situations. There is also now more opportunities to shoot in very bright situations with fast lenses, with shutter speeds up to 1/16000s thanks to the new electronic shutter.

High-Resolution Touch Display

Examine your images on the crystal clear 2.3 Million Pixe touch display, with 800 nits brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. The new Status Screen grants direct access to all important functions and with an additional function button on the top plate, the Leica M11 provides more options to customize the camera to your personal needs.

Connectivity

The Leica M11 is a certified Made for iPhone® and iPad® product. As such the Leica M11 offers a seamless direct cable connection to iPhones and iPads. Thanks to the Bluetooth® function, connecting the M11 wirelessly to your smartphone is easy. The FOTOS app provides over-the-air software updates, remote control and geotagging for your photos.

Dual Memory Concept

Unique to the M11 is the deliberate omission of the traditional base plate, offering quick and easy access to the battery, the USB-C port and the SD card. In addition to the UHS-II SD card slot, the Leica M11 is equipped with an internal storage capacity of 64 GB, allowing photographers to save image files simultaneously onto two different storage locations.

Better stamina

Shoot considerably longer on a single charge. The new 1800 mAh battery in the M11 stores 64% more power than its predecessors. In addition, the overall operation of the camera is more energy-efficient than in previous models. The USB-C port also allows you to charge the camera’s battery using most USB-C chargers.

Digital Zoom

Get even closer to your subjects with the integrated Digital Zoom feature. Shoot in Live View in both JPG and DNG and choose between a 1.3x and 1.8x zoom-factor of your focal length. As always, the DNG file still contains all image data of the entire sensor area.
