Leica M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA

Homage to an Icon of Photography
As the first mass-produced 35mm camera, the Leica I represents a pivotal moment in photography and lays the foundation for our heritage. Forged from vision, courage, and a pioneering spirit, it became an icon whose legacy endures in every one of our creations to this day. To celebrate its centenary, we are presenting the exclusive M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA set.
A Meeting of Tradition and Modernity
With the M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA, we are continuing this legacy. As a descendant of the Leica I, it impresses by seamlessly bridging the gap between analogue heritage and the digital age. Paired with the historically significant Leitz Anastigmat-M 50 f/3.5 and Leica Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH. Lenses, the limited anniversary edition, masterfully blends traditional craftsmanship, timeless elegance, and cutting-edge technology.
A Camera that Keeps History Alive
The M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA pays homage to the legendary Leica I from 1925, featuring a high-gloss black lacquered brass top plate, nickel-coloured anodised controls with classic cross knurling, and a streamlined design free from eyelets and the red Leica logo. The conical collar around the shutter release, the semi-circular release button, the black M-Bayonet, and the genuine leather covering with its distinctly textured surface all reflect original design features. The anniversary model gets its finishing touches from the “100” logo on the hot shoe cover and the “Ernst Leitz Wetzlar” engraving.
As a distinctive mark of its exclusivity, the engraving on the accessory shoe reflects the typographic style of the earliest Leica I serial numbers from 001 to 100. The M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA with the serial number 6000000 holds a unique distinction – it is engraved as no. 000. The Anastigmat-M 50 f/3.5 and Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH. lenses share this exclusive edition number.

New Edition of the Leica I Lens
When it made its debut in 1925, the Leica I came with a permanently affixed lens – the Leitz Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5. A hundred years on, we are reviving this legendary lens, carrying forward its remarkable legacy with the Leitz Anastigmat-M 50 f/3.5. This modern reissue features an M-Bayonet while faithfully preserving the original’s shape, dimensions, engravings, and retractable design for optimal compactness. Its exterior is now crafted from aluminium, featuring a nickel-coloured anodised finish that faithfully echoes the distinctive aesthetic of a century past.

Leica Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH. – Combining History and Modernity
As the second lens in the set, the Summilux-M stands as a triumph of engineering excellence. Moreover, it embodies a century of optical mastery, showcasing our unwavering dedication to precision and innovation. This exceptional lens delivers impressive speed, outstanding image quality, and sharpness even at wide apertures, with a close focus distance of just 45 cm and the characteristically soft bokeh that defines our optical craftsmanship. Featuring design elements like a nickel-coloured anodised aluminium surface, classic cross knurling on the aperture adjustment ring, and an aluminium-milled handle, this special edition sets itself apart from the standard model.
The Millionth M
With the strictly limited M11-D anniversary edition, we are not only paying tribute to our heritage but also marking a new milestone in our history – one of the 101 units of the M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA is the millionth M-Camera ever produced. It proudly carries the serial number 6000000, standing as both a tribute to our heritage and a beacon of our future.

The anniversary set is further enhanced with meticulously matched accessories. These include an exclusive protector with a permanently attached carrying strap, inspired by the earliest Leitz leather accessories, alongside a matching SD card case. Crafted from the finest cognac-coloured leather, both pieces elegantly blend aesthetics with functionality.
