In partnership with US company Ollin, Leica Sports Optics presents another snapshot adapter specially designed for the Leica Geovid binocular. This new accessory allows you to capture your sightings quickly and easily with your smartphone. The cleverly designed adapter system holds almost any smartphone securely in place with magnetic brackets.
Alongside the new adapter, Leica Sports Optics also presents the Leica Geovid Pro 8x42 and 10x42 in olive green. The colour olive green will designate the Leica Geovid Pro line of binoculars going forward. While the Geovid R line will remain in black, the elite Geovid AB+ line appears in the colour Flat Dark Earth (FDE). With this step, Leica Sports Optics – a pioneer in hunting binoculars featuring rangefinders – makes this product range simpler to understand.
Leica Geovid Pro
The Leica Geovid Pro rangefinder binoculars with lens diameters of 32 and 42 mm achieve an optical performance hitherto only seen in the field of pure specialist binoculars without rangefinders. The rangefinding reflects over 30 years’ experience in speed and precision. It comes with Pro Applied Ballistics Ultralight® with G1/G7 and more than 740 factory-loaded cartridges preinstalled. The vast Leica database is also available. The Leica Geovid Pro models’ grip is created by their special open-bridge design. The Leica Geovid Pro models also have an in-built compass. This allows terrain points to be targeted and retrieved for navigation with Leica Pro Track (LPT).
The Ollin Snapshot Adapter for Leica
The Ollin snapshot adapter allows you to connect a smartphone to the Leica Geovid Pro quickly and securely, turning your smartphone into a powerful camera with a telephoto lens. With the adapter, you can shoot razor-sharp photos and videos straight through your binocular. A smart magnet function ensures precise smartphone alignment with repeatable accuracy. Different models of smartphone can be connected in combination with the Ollin snapcase or the magnetic tab (both available separately). The flat design means the Ollin snapshot adapter can be left on the eyepiece during normal binocular use. This makes it easy to switch between observation and digiscoping. A magnetic protective cap for the eyepiece is included.
The Leica Geovid Pro 8x42 and 10x42 binoculars in the new olive-green colour are available from all Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and specialist retailers. The recommended retail price is €2,900 including VAT. The new Ollin snapshot adapter (plus additional models for other Leica binoculars and the Leica spotting scope) costs €150.
