Together with the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14–24 f/2.8 ASPH. and the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH., the Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200 f/2.8 ASPH. is part of the powerful and versatile Trinity Series equipped with the L-Mount. Armed with this, you will be ready to take on any shooting scenario with the Leica SL-System, covering the entire focal range from 14 mm super wide angle to 200 mm super telephoto at a constant f/2.8 aperture.
Design Details
Twenty lens elements, of which three feature aspherical surfaces, distributed over fifteen groups ensure top imaging performance. All elements are manufactured using high-quality glass. Seven of these feature a low refractive index, particularly low dispersion and high anomalous partial dispersion. This results in razor-sharp images rich in contrast and with great tonal fidelity. The wide range of focal lengths is made possible by reliable internal focusing. As a result, the lens keeps its compact length across the entire zoom range.

The optionally available Leica Extender L 1.4x and L 2.0x fit in any camera bag thanks to their compact size, and they will bring you even closer – closer to the action, closer to details hidden in the distance, only revealing themselves when you zoom in. Extend the range of your Vario-Elmarit-SL 70–200 f/2.8 ASPH. to 280 mm quickly and easily with the Leica Extender L 1.4x – and even to 400 mm with the Leica Extender L 2.0x.
