Furthermore, it is easy to adjust the picture manually via the menu options using the remote control.

Triple RGB Laser
The RGB laser unit on the Leica Cine Play 1 uses three separate laser units for the primary colours red, green and blue. This advanced technology ensures exceptional colour reproduction, increased energy efficiency and an impressively long service life. Direct light transmission to the DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip, without blending colours, produces an exceptionally stable colour space that meets – and even exceeds – the requirements of the demanding BT.2020 standard.

Autofocus
The autofocus feature on the Cine Play 1 automatically adjusts the image to achieve optimum sharpness for perfect playback quality. The navigation buttons on the remote control also allow you to individually readjust the focus.

MEMC
The abbreviation MEMC stands for Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation. This technique is used to add additional frames between the original frames in a video sequence. This means that fast motion sequences in the picture can be rendered more smoothly, without any stuttering, resulting in a more natural visual experience.

Game Mode
The Game Mode available with the Leica Cine Play 1 makes it possible for gaming fans to playfully create an exciting, adrenaline-pumping atmosphere at any location. With a latency of less than 12 milliseconds and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, the Cine Play 1 is ideal for games that require lightning-fast reactions.

Filmmaker Mode
Filmmaker Mode guarantees an unadulterated viewing experience that does justice to the director’s creative vision. By deactivating all image editing processes – including noise reduction, image sharpness adjustment and dynamic backlighting – the image is reproduced in its purest form. This means that the visual experience remains authentic and true to the original, just as post-production intended it for the cinema.

3000 ANSI Lumens
Like the Leica Cine 1, the Cine Play 1 also enables astonishing brightness of up to 3000 ANSI lumens. This results in brilliant, high-contrast image reproduction by the projector, even in brighter environments, so you can enjoy unforgettable film and cinema experiences regardless of the lighting conditions. Good to know: ANSI lumens are a common unit for measuring projectors’ and laser TVs’ brightness. The higher the value, the brighter and clearer the projected image remains – even in daylight.

DTS:X Virtual Surround Sound Technology
The integrated DTS Virtual:X audio signal processing forms the ideal basis for a truly 3D surround sound experience. When connected to a surround sound system, this advanced technology makes it possible for the sound to be processed in such a way that it appears to come from different directions. Specially developed for home cinema systems, DTS:X adds spatiality and dynamics to the sound, meaning that the listener is immersed in the action. What’s more, additional speakers can easily be connected to the Cine Play 1 using a variety of connection options, such as HDMI, S/PDIF or Bluetooth, in order to intensify the sound experience.

Portability
The Leica Cine Play 1 will win you over with its flexibility and versatility, especially due to its portable weight and compact size. Thanks to its tilt and swivel options, it also adapts easily to many environments and applications. Combining it with the matching stand ensures even greater flexibility, allowing the projector to be effortlessly positioned anywhere – exactly the way you need it.

Leica Image Optimization (LIO™)
With its own Leica Image Optimization (LIO™), Leica is also applying its decades of expertise in image technology to home cinema projectors. The Leica Cine Play 1 projects impressive images in unrivalled Leica quality, with moving images up to 300 inches in size.

HDR10+ (High Dynamic Range)
HDR10+ offers a greater dynamic range and more contrast than standard dynamic range (SDR) video. This image technology ensures that video content supporting HDR10+ can process and play back dynamic metadata (dynamic tone mapping), which displays image information with optimum colour values, contrast settings and high brightness levels. Together with 4K, this makes the picture more vivid, more brilliant and more detailed, as the light and dark tones are accentuated.

BT.2020 Colour Gamut
The extended colour space of the BT.2020 (Rec.2020) standard, which is specially adapted to 4k laser projectors, creates a vibrant world of colour far exceeding the existing BT.709 (Rec.709) Full HD standard. Only laser TVs and projectors that have triple lasers, like the Leica Cine Play 1, cover over 100% of this vast colour space. Other TV technologies cannot display this vast colour space.

3D Mode
The Leica Cine Play 1 lets cinema enthusiasts and film fans enjoy lifelike 3D films with an image size of up to 300”. All you need for this is a pair of active shutter glasses. The DLP link for the Cine Play 1 controls the glasses’ wireless synchronisation to enable separate playback of image content for the right and left eye. The 3D functionality is perfect for holding unforgettable film nights and thrilling gaming sessions, as it conveys a sense of depth and dimension that cannot be achieved with conventional 2D images. Film fans and gamers alike can immerse themselves in the action as if they were right in the thick of it – whenever and wherever they want.

Gentle on the Eyes & Energy Efficient
Unlike conventional televisions, the Leica Cine Play 1 projects light onto a wall instead of directly into your eyes. This reduces the amount of blue light, which is not only energy-intensive but also particularly strenuous. As a result, viewing becomes much easier on the eyes. It has even been awarded a certification in 2025 lauding its eye-friendly design, which emits 0% harmful blue light. Furthermore, the advanced laser technology ensures high energy efficiency, as laser light sources generate less heat than conventional lamps and have a significantly longer service life. Energy consumption is also reduced, and there are no follow-up costs for replacing lamps.

Sustainability & Recyclability
The high-quality materials and precise craftmanship used to create the Cine Play 1 ensure outstanding sustainability. The body and stand are each made from a single piece of pure aluminium and are 100% recyclable. The front panel is made from hard-wearing glass. Even the laser engine featuring advanced chip technology is largely composed of recyclable components – offering a clear advantage in terms of sustainability compared to conventional LED and OLED TVs.

HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma)
This standard enables television broadcasters to transmit video streams via cable or satellite in SDR and HDR quality, even with limited bandwidth. An HLG-capable projector is therefore a prerequisite for displaying video content transmitted in compliance with the HLG standard in both SDR and HDR.
