Introduction to Street Photography 1-2-1 Tutorial

A private 1-2-1 workshop aimed at getting you started on your exciting street photography journey

In this five hour, 1-2-1 tutorial you will learn about the history and theory behind street photography, how to compose street photographs, manage camera settings and focusing techniques, exposure control and how to remain calm and relaxed when photographing subjects in the street as well as how to begin editing your pictures on Adobe Lightroom Classic.

Schedule

The tutorial starts in the Leica Akademie classroom for a welcome coffee and an introductory presentation on the history of street photography. This is followed by a back-to-basics session to get you up to speed on the correct technical approach to street photography, including a thorough overview of:

Controlling manual camera settings including Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO

Manual focusing tips, including learning the Zone Focus System

Following this you will be ready to head out into the bustling streets of Soho in Central London for a practical street-based photo walk with hands-on guidance and instruction from Senior Leica Akademie Tutor and Street Photographer Robin Sinha. This session is aimed at helping you to overcome your fears, to start producing exciting street photographs.

The workshop finishes back at the Leica Akademie for an introduction to editing your pictures on Adobe Lightroom Classic, covering the essentials from how best to file and categorise your images to essential edits for colour and black and white images.

Meet the tutor:

This 1-2-1 tutorial is led by Senior Leica Akademie Tutor and Street Photographer Robin Sinha. Robin describes his photography as ‘people-led.’ With a passion for street photography, he prefers to wander the streets without preconceived ideas and a sense of curiosity. In 2009, Robin joined Leica UK where he works as an Akademie Ambassador and Lead photography Tutor.

Bespoke sessions are open to all levels

No previous photographic experience is required

Participants do not need a Leica camera to attend

Session availability:

Bespoke Street Photography sessions are available in-person at our Leica Akademie classroom from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Please allow 5-hours for this sessions plus an additional 1-hour break for lunch.

Sessions can be conducted in one day or split into two 2.5 hour sessions, please let you tutor know your preferance on booking.

All tutors are professional Leica photographers active in their commercial field with extensive knowledge of all Leica camera systems.
