Editing Your Images 1-2-1 tutorial (Lightroom)

The “Editing Your Images” 1-2-1 tutorial is a tailored 2-hour course for those looking to get the most out of their photos by learning the core elements that go into editing on Adobe Lightroom Classic

Learn about the latest Adobe Lightroom Classic software and post processing workflow techniques from one of our expert Leica Akademie tutors.

Learn how to import, organise, edit, enhance and export your images with ease during this 1-2-1 tutorial.

Learn how to make the most of all the basic features and tools in your software and expand your post-processing knowledge and working techniques. This tutorial is suitable for those who are new to post-processing or looking to start using editing software with greater confidence.

During the workshop you will enhance and refine a selection of images and your tutor will guide you through each module of your software at your own pace enabling you to become familiar with the interface and features.

During this class you can expect to learn:

Editing basics/ fundamentals
File management techniques
Editing module navigation
Selection process: browse / view / compare / rate / filter
Keyboard shortcuts
Keywording, copyrighting
Processing tools and identifying relevant uses
Basic edits (Exposure/ contrast/ colour/ black and white)
Working with presets
Developing a style
Exporting for website, social media, printing

Participant requirements:

It is recommended participants bring their own laptop along to the session with an up-to-date version of Adobe Lightroom Classic already downloaded. An Apple Macbook laptop can be provided by our tutors for those unable to bring their own.

A free trial Adobe Lightroom is available to download for those not currently using post-production software. Please see the following links:

Please make sure to download all software before attending the workshop.

Images:

Please bring along 5 to 10 of your own images to the session. The recommended image format to bring is DNG/ RAW. JPEG images can also be used.

If you are unsure about image formats, please let your tutor know upon booking.

Alternatively, your tutor can provide sample images to edit during the session.

Bespoke sessions are open to all levels.

No previous photographic experience is required.

Participants do not need a Leica camera to attend.

Bespoke sessions are available in-person at our Leica Akademie classroom or online (by Zoom video call) from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
