Jeroen Hanselaer is a Belgian photographer whose work spans the full spectrum of the medium—from fashion campaigns and commercial projects to UN humanitarian assignments, portraiture, and intimate documentary series. Over 26 years, he has built a practice defined not by genre but by a consistent conviction: that every subject, regardless of context, deserves to be seen with the same precision, respect, and refusal to look away.
His career began in fashion photography, where he developed an eye for composition, light, and narrative clarity. That aesthetic discipline never left—it simply found new applications. The same attention to line and frame that shapes a fashion image now serves a portrait of a Michelin-starred chef's work, a humanitarian project in Chad's Sahel region, or a five-minute session with Monica Bellucci in a hotel room. The context changes. The photographer doesn't.
Manager of the Leica Akademie Belgium & Luxembourg since 2026, Hanselaer leads workshops and educational programs for photographers at all levels. His work has been exhibited internationally and published in three monographs: Restless (2015), Fernweh (2019), and Monsieur Portrait (2021). His documentary series Visages du Sahel, created in partnership with German and French development organizations, has been shown at galleries in Ghent and Antwerp and contributed to securing continued funding for climate adaptation projects in Central Africa.
What drives the work has remained constant: an instinct for what is real, a commitment to finding beauty without hiding truth, and the belief that the camera is as much a political instrument as it is an aesthetic one. Whether the assignment comes from a fashion house, a newspaper, or the United Nations, the question is always the same—how do you capture someone's truth while respecting their dignity?

Born Djessoba N'nambé on 27 June 1991 in Lomé, Togo, Yoss Spencer taught himself filmmaking through research, instinct, and the kind of persistence that formal education rarely produces. He refined his craft under director Steven AF at Studio SunLight before founding his own production company, Yoss Spencer Movies, in 2015.

What followed was a decade of sustained output across West and Central Africa — music videos, institutional films, documentaries, commercial work — for artists including Koffi Olomide and King Mensah, and for institutions including the United States Embassy in Togo, where he was invited as a trainer at a video editing workshop as early as 2016. He has been recognised three times as best director at the All Music Awards.

He controls every stage of the image: directing, operating camera, editing, colour grading. That end-to-end command means the work never passes through hands that don't understand it. Since 2021 he has worked in the field on humanitarian documentary assignments commissioned by the GIZ and the United Nations — work that takes a filmmaker to places and situations where the image carries real consequence.

Het westen van Mongolië staat op geen enkel toeristisch circuit. Om er te geraken, rijd je dagenlang door steppe, vulkanisch plateau en zoutwoestijn — langs nomadenfamilies die leven zoals hun voorouders, grotendeels ongestoord door de buitenwereld. Dit is geen fotoreis. Het is een werkreis: vijftien dagen in het veld met een team van drie specialisten, die documentary werk maken op een van de laatste werkelijk afgelegen plekken ter wereld.

L'ouest de la Mongolie n'est sur aucun circuit touristique. Pour y accéder, on roule pendant des jours à travers la steppe, les plateaux volcaniques et les déserts de sel — au-delà de familles nomades vivant comme leurs ancêtres, largement à l'écart du monde extérieur. Ce n'est pas un voyage photo. C'est une expédition de travail : quinze jours sur le terrain avec une équipe de trois spécialistes, pour créer des images documentaires dans l'un des derniers endroits véritablement reculés du monde.

Mongolia's far west is not on any tourist trail. To reach it, you drive for days across steppe, volcanic plateau and salt desert — past nomadic families living as their ancestors did, largely undisturbed by the outside world. This is not a photography tour. It is a working expedition: fifteen days in the field with a team of three specialists, making documentary work in one of the last genuinely remote corners of the world.
