The Strengths of the 35 mm SL-Lens
You can make mindful use of focus and benefit from a consistently high degree of detail across the entire field of view. The imaging performance remains constant even at a wide aperture. While skin tones appear neutral, the high contrast of the APO SL-Lens ensures that subjects in focus exhibit stronger contrast than out-of-focus areas. This results in pictures that have lifelike quality as well as stunning depth effect. Thanks to apochromatic correction, contours are not disrupted by colour fringing. Particularly for reportage photography in conditions where light shifts, image quality with this 35 mm SL-Lens remains outstanding throughout.
Design Details
The APO-Summicron-SL 35 f/2 ASPH. is made up of 13 lenses. Three aspherical elements correct monochromatic imaging aberrations and ensure high detail resolution. Nine of the lenses are made of specialised glass elements with anomalous partial dispersion. This allows chromatic aberration to be compensated for systematically. It results in clean luminous highlights without colour fringing as well as very stable contrast right up to the edges. A floating element ensures consistent imaging performance over the entire focusing range – from 27 cm to infinity. Thanks to the precise autofocus, focusing is particularly quick and accurate. With a housing made entirely of metal, the SL-Lens is protected against dust and splash water and ready for daily professional use.
