Nel progettare e realizzare il nuovo Noctilux-M sono stati presi in considerazione soltanto tipi di vetri con dispersione parziale anomala e contenuta dispersione cromatica. Questo ci ha permesso di migliorare sostanzialmente la resa ottica del Noctilux-M 75 mm f/1.25 ASPH., perfino rispetto al Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH.

Un'attenzione particolare è stata posta nell'uso di un elemento flottante nell'ambito del complesso sistema di messa a fuoco, garantendo un livello di prestazioni elevato e costante sull'intero campo di messa a fuoco.
