Actors can only shine on stage if everyone is doing an excellent job behind the scenes. Our Corporate Communications, Legal, Human Resources, Financing and Controlling teams ensure the organisation and optimisation, planning and implementation, and assurance and compliance of our business processes and goals.
In the Financing team:
- You monitor and optimise operational procedures with regard to financial efficiency and compliance.
- You work closely together with other departments to provide financial data for strategic decision-making.
- You confirm compliance with tax provisions and bookkeeping standards in accordance with statutory requirements.
- You provide support analysing financial data and developing business strategies to stimulate corporate growth.
- You ensure funds and liquidity as well as the timely payment of suppliers, wages and travel costs.
- You undertake the preparation, review, reconciliation and documentation of financial statements.
- You are the contact person for accountants, auditors, insurance companies and banks.
In the Controlling team:
- You are responsible for global strategic and operational budget planning.
- You supervise and coordinate all M&A activities of the company, including business valuation, due diligence and a large part of the commercial post-merger integration process.
- You advise internal clients on business questions in your role as a business partner of the Leica board and management.
- You define our global reporting standards for internal Group reporting and ensure that they are implemented and complied with.
- You work closely with the Product Management and Development teams, so that resources are concentrated on the right products.
- You set great store by achieving business goals and recommend actions in case course corrections become necessary.
In the Corporate Communication team:
- You develop strategic communication plans to support the business goals, implement these, and inform the public both about the goals and the strategy of the company.
- You make sure we communicate the same message across the globe.
- You maintain relations with media representatives to promote trust and credibility.
- You advise corporate management on all questions relating to the company and its positions.
- You provide for effective internal communication to keep employees informed about important developments, motivate them and strengthen the corporate culture.
- You develop and test crisis communication plans in order to protect the corporate image in difficult situations.
In the Legal team:
- You see yourself as an in-house sparring partner for all business areas and give legal advice on all business eventualities.
- You help to shape successful business operations by recognising, mitigating or avoiding business risks early on.
- You develop, plan and structure GTCs, forms and contracts and negotiate with business partners worldwide.
- You work with contract management software, a collaborative platform and a digital service desk, drive digitalisation in our area and in the company, and keep track of new trends like AI.
- You help the management of all Leica companies to introduce compliance management systems – from developing and publishing rules and regulations, to training, to operating a whistleblowing system.
In the HR team:
- You develop HR strategies to put Leica in the best-possible light as an employer, to nurture employees and to further strengthen our internationality.
- You advise the board, management and employees comprehensively on all questions relevant to HR.
- You answer questions regarding labour law and HR management (i.e. working hours, drafting contracts, foreign assignments and reorganisation) in a solutions-oriented manner.
- You are the contact person for talent management and leadership programmes.
- You support and supervise departmental development and company-wide analyses of training requirements.
- You clarify questions about payroll accounting and respond to corresponding bodies, such as social insurance providers.
- You are specialised in HR controlling and the corresponding evaluations, analyses and recommended courses of action.
- You manage and internationalise the HR systems and tools and develop these further.
- You work closely together with co-determination partners, committees, associations and universities.
