Leica ZM 1
Setting New Standards
Powering the ZM 1 is the meticulously crafted LH-01 calibre, designed specifically for Leica. Our innovative approach to watchmaking has resulted in the introduction of new functions and an innovative interpretation of traditional complications: the patented push-crown with seconds reset, the movement status display, the unique power reserve, and the day/night indicator.
Handcrafted Excellence
A domed sapphire crystal – reminiscent of a Leica lens – and a transparent sapphire case back distinguish the Leica ZM 1, revealing the watch’s inner workings. The ZM 1 can withstand water pressure up to a depth of 50 metres. When fully wound, the watch movement operates for 60 hours. It is equipped with a quick-set date pusher, located at the 2 o’clock position.
Precision Mechanics
The dial, hands, and indices are meticulously crafted in a diamond-cut design and sandblasted finish, while the matte dial – made from a solid block of high-strength aluminium – beautifully sets off the watch’s functions.
Patented Push-Crown
Inspired by the camera shutter release button, our patented push-crown is a unique innovation in the watch industry. The design and structure of the push-crown are modelled to ensure easy time setting.
Power Reserve Indicator
The power reserve indicator – consisting of two gradually converging blades – echoes a camera shutter that opens and closes in accordance with the exposure time. This unique design element, inspired by the shutter curtain of the Leica M, pays homage to the fact that our pioneering cameras were made possible by the fine mechanical principles of watchmaking.
