Oscar B. Castillo will talk about his photobook Eso Que Saben exploring life in prison, change, dreams, the Free Convict Hip Hop Collective and their journey from incarceration to freedom in Venezuela. Through photography, documents, interventions, collages and collaborative work, this book aims to interconnect the dots of childhood, adolescence, education, exclusion, family, the mirage of power and aggressive masculinity, and the reality of fast death or hard work for self redemption. The book follows how these young men living in a system that sees them as a lost cause, and with all the odds against, built and developed their own plan for reinsertion. This talk is in collaboration with the Social Documentary Network.
