The Leica Gallery Wetzlar celebrates the 50th anniversary of Leica Galleries with the exhibition „Personal Perspectives: 50 Photographs for 50 Years of Leica Galleries“. Developed in collaboration with the Leica gallerists around the world, the show presents iconic works and new discoveries, reflecting the diverse and evolving landscape of Leica photography. Each photographer featured in the exhibition has previously been showcased in a Leica Gallery.

Since the opening of the first gallery in Wetzlar in 1976, Leica has established a global network of 27 galleries, with further expansion plans. These spaces have become important cultural platforms, promoting photography as an art form, historical document, and social voice. Hosting around 150 exhibitions annually, Leica Galleries balance classic photography with contemporary perspectives, fostering dialogue between artists and audiences globally.

The exhibition showcases works by renowned photographers such as Elliott Erwitt, Joel Meyerowitz, and Barbara Klemm, alongside emerging talents. This diverse collection presents a wide range of styles, from photojournalism and portraiture to street and landscape photography.
