Auction Preview: Shaping Visions

The Leica Gallery Vienna is showing a preview of the "Shaping Visions" auction. As part of the 43rd Leitz Photographica Auction, the photographs will be auctioned at the Hotel Bristol on 24 November. Expressive photographs in black and white. A tribute to Otto Steinert and the art of photography. His best-known photographs, including icons such as Mask of a Dancer, View from the Arc de Triomphe, One-Footed Walkers and Lamps of the Place de la Concorde, will be shown as part of the collection of 22 vintage prints and are highlights of "Shaping Visions".

Alongside other classics of the medium such as Rudolf Koppitz and Walker Evans, the preview includes exciting perspectives from the second half of the century and contemporary positions by Sebastião Salgado, René Burri , Richard Misrach, Nan Goldin, Luigi Ghirri and Roe Ethridge, among others. In addition to iconic reportage photographs, the selection includes portraits of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Kate Moss and David Bowie.
