The Strengths of the 75 mm SL-Lens
You benefit from harmonious perspective that captures facial expressions in a flattering way while retaining structure. At a wide aperture, separation between subject and background can be controlled without compromising on the exceptional imaging performance of this APO lens. Thanks to apochromatic correction, colour fringing is even avoided in luminous highlights. The focal plane can be adjusted precisely, which is particularly advantageous at a narrow depth of field. This results in impressive portraits that exhibit clarity and calm.
Design Details
The APO-Summicron-SL 75 f/2 ASPH. includes 13 lenses in 11 groups. Multiple lenses made of specialised glass with anomalous partial dispersion provide apochromatic correction. Aspherical elements reduce spherical aberration and ensure high resolution right up to the edges. A floating element optimises the imaging performance at close range and guarantees consistent focus down to the close focus distance of 50 cm. The autofocus with Dual Syncro Drive™ operates with great accuracy, enabling precise focusing, for example, during portrait photography at a narrow depth of field. The metal housing is completely sealed against dust and moisture.
