His photographs tell stories and have made history. At the intersection of documentary, portrait, travel, and landscape photography, the American Steve McCurry (*1950) has long been regarded as one of the greatest photographers of our time.
The exhibition "The Eyes of Humanity" at the Leica Gallery Munich includes a selection of around 45 color images: pictures that provide a wonderful overview of his extensive body of work. The photographs were taken over the past four decades in a total of 16 countries. They feature subjects from crisis and disaster areas, as well as impressive landscapes and everyday scenes, but above all, images that narrate the fate of various people and communities around the world.
