It was whilst studying Graphics at the London College of Printing that Dan Nathan found his love and aptitude for photography - spending most of his time in the darkroom. Subsequent training at the BBC enabled him to design and inspire title sequences - notably the BAFTA-winning titles for Dennis Potter's The Singing Detective followed by many more. From there, he transferred his creativity to the sets of music videos, commercials and television. It was the television commercial that became the perfect environment for his  photography skills to grow, allowing him to use stills photography to create compelling narratives garnering him campaigns as both a director and photographer.

In 2013 Nathan's brother gifted him a Leica camera, this encouraged him to focus on his own personal photographic projects. After travelling to Lake Baikal in Siberia in 2018 to shoot ice formations he looked for inspiration closer to home in London. The exhibition at Leica Gallery London draws from this full pivot which sees him completely switch genre to the heady arena of London Fashion Week. Between 2019-2024 Nathan was allowed access all areas via a friend who organised the New Generation of Young Designers shows and spent hours watching and waiting for what he wanted to capture on camera.

The twelve images in the show are a product of his analytical skill also aided by the nature of a range-finder and his intrinsic instinct as an advertising director. He manages to move with ease across mediums with his restless nature always looking to the next way of being visually creative.
