The SL3, a hybrid in hand
Cinematographer and director, Alexandre Archimbaud has been using Leica cameras for over ten years. Starting on analogue with the Leica M3, the SL-System was a natural transition alongside his treasured M-Lenses. Utilising both video and photo modes in his professional workflow, having a camera that can do both gives him the ultimate freedom when shooting. Testing the unique dual-mode quality of the Leica SL3 in locations across London and Copenhagen, Alexandre reveals a true hybrid in hand.
With the rich detail that the SL3 can reproduce, it allows me to just concentrate on what’s in front of me. To immerse myself in the moment.
Alexandre Archimbaud
"My work requires me to get multiple uses out of a camera. Now there exists an option to both shoot 60 megapixel stills and 8K video. Carrying around one camera and one lens, all day long, that’s a pleasure to me."
