70 Years of Leica M
The iconic M-System has been bringing together tradition and innovation for seven decades. From the legendary M3 to the latest digital models, each and every Leica M embodies the spirit of perfection. Photos taken with the M-Systems have made history. Now the time has come to look back at the Leica M’s first 70 years – with a comprehensive retrospective in the form of a book, as well as a high-quality, exclusive M special edition set.
Leica M Edition 70
The “Leica M Edition 70” is a homage to the history of the M-System and, at the same time, an investment in the future of analogue photography. The limited special edition distils the previous decades of photographic perfection filled with timeless elegance and pure passion for exceptional photography – it is a tribute to the art of analogue photography.
A photographic collector’s item, not only for sophisticated purists: each of the 250 sets worldwide includes a Leica M-A, a Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH., a Leicavit M fast winder and a film container with a 35mm black-and-white film.
The platinum-plated finish on all metal surfaces not only gives the set an exclusive look but also makes it exceptionally robust and durable.

New Leica M-Accessory: The Leicavit M
In addition to the special anniversary edition, the Leicavit M fast winder will be released in three additional versions: black-painted, glossy black-painted and silver-chromed. These are not limited editions but part of the regular series production. Leicavit M replaces the bottom cover of an analogue M-Camera, enabling photographers to capture up to two frames per second without taking their eyes off the viewfinder.
The different variants of the Leicavit M fast winder will be available in the first half of 2025.
