About Xing Lei

Xing Lei specialises in black and white photography, with a keen focus on capturing genuine human emotions. He has photographed the renowned actress Zhou Xun, shot the opening cover for the fashion magazine T and created advertising campaigns for well-known brands.

His photobook Tide was published by AKAAKA in Japan. Recent solo exhibitions include Hailiutu at Three Shadows Photography Art Centre, Xiamen (2024), and group exhibitions such as Lightning, Butterfly, Flame, Cocoon, Wandering Sword at the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts (2025). He was named one of China’s Top 20 Contemporary Photographers in 2015.
