Leica Camera Nordics and MAXUS101 gallery proudly present The Core – a new solo exhibition by the renowned Danish photographer Jacob Aue Sobol. This exhibition delves beneath the surface in search of the human essence: a primal point where vulnerability and beauty converge.

Sobol’s photographs are known for their intense intimacy and uncompromising black-and-white aesthetic. With The Core, Sobol turns his gaze inward and invites the viewer to feel what truly moves us as human beings. The series includes both newly produced and iconic works – among them the striking image of a piteraq (katabatic winds) tearing through a Greenlandic settlement – and stands as a poetic and raw testimony to the experience of being human.
