If you are seeking the perfect partner for wildlife observation at night, or spotting animals during the day, the new Leica Calonox 2 View LRF thermal camera is the ideal choice. Designed and made in Germany, it wins users over with numerous, perfectly-coordinated practical functions and a fully-integrated laser rangefinder (LRF), which can be activated very easily on the device, or via optional remote control. Handling is simplified thanks to its ergonomic and compact shape, intuitive operation, and rapid mechanical selection of day/night mode. The optimized eye relief enables better viewing – and more comfortable use in daylight, thanks to the brighter adjustable display in day mode.
The European sensor from LYNRED, together with Leica’s proven image processing software (Leica Image Optimization – LIO™) ensures even sharper images, richer in contrast and detail. Electronic color filters, and six individually-adjustable color modes, support and optimize the user’s experience.

For the first time with integrated laser rangefinder
The new Leica Calonox 2 View LRF thermal camera is a genuine benchmark in terms of design and function. Designed and made in Germany, the Leica Calonox 2 View LRF wins users over with the world’s first fully-integrated laser rangefinder (LRF) for up to 1200 meters – a nice feature for ranging wildlife.
Fascinating observations with optimum color definition
Nature observers can count on natural, sharp, high-contrast images, thanks to the high-quality LYNRED sensor and the processing software that’s been further refined by Leica (LIO™ – Leica Image Optimization). With a sampling frequency of 60 Hertz, panning the device results in a smooth image. Likewise, video recordings of moving objects are possible without annoying interruptions.
Sharp and high-contrast images
Featuring a high-quality sensor from LYNRED, the Leica Calonox 2 View LRF is state-of-the-art for nature observers. The sensor has a size of 640x480 pixels and a pixel pitch of 12 µm. This guarantees a sharp image, rich in contrast and detail. What’s more, Leica thermal cameras feature a software-based shutter. This enables silent and instantaneous recalibration – without freezing the image.
Optimum viewing comfort
The generous micro OLED display (1280 x 960 pixels) offers brilliant image sharpness and outstanding imaging performance. Pixel binning ensures pleasant, distortion-free observation, thanks to improved light capture with less image noise. The 42-mm lens with its large field of view ensures optimum viewing comfort, an excellent overview of the surroundings, and fast animal spotting.
4x zoom for excellent detail recognition
With the 2.5x basic optical magnification and up to 4x digital zoom, objects with the standard size of 1.8 meters can be clearly found at up to 2210 meters. Recognition is possible at 770 meters and reliable identification at 390 meters.
