Leica Gallery Mexico City presents the opening exhibition of the first edition of the Leica Latin America Luxury Travel Photography Awards: “Human Connection in Latin America”, the first Latin American competition dedicated to travel photography.

This contest was born with the mission of promoting the value of photography in the context of travel and exploration, highlighting the human bond with its natural, cultural and social environment in Latin America. Through this initiative, Leica seeks to recognize photographic projects that explore the richness and diversity of travel experiences in the region, with a narrative perspective, aesthetic sensitivity and cultural depth.

The exhibition presents the photographic series of the three winners of this first edition:

First place – Michael Dunn Cáceres (Bolivia). With his High Altitude Golf series, the photographer documents the intersection between identity, territory and everyday life in one of the highest golf courses in the world, where Bolivian women transform their work space into a place of play and tradition.

Second place – Ali Alcántara (Mexico). His project Caring begins with admiring reflects on the relationship between humans and nature, inviting us to observe the landscape with respect and awareness of our responsibility towards the environment.

Third place – Musuk Nolte (Peru). In the series Qosqo, Nolte portrays Andean communities of Cusco and their deep connection with the land, revealing territories where identity, memory and landscape coexist.

The Leica Latin America Luxury Travel Photography Awards are supported by Luxury Travel Magazine, LATAM Airlines, Belmond, NUBA, PONANT and Chablé Hotels, allies that share the vision of promoting the visual narrative of travel in the region.
