hunting binoculars with adjustable matrix display and up to 7500-metre range on retroreflective targets
Brilliant optics combined with ballistics calculation and navigation
Leica Sport Optics presents its new flagship model: The Leica Geovid Max 10x42, with a maximum measuring range of up to 7,500 metres on retroreflective targets. These high-performance binoculars combine high-quality optics with innovative technologies, such as a customisable active-matrix microLED display, the Applied Ballistics Professional® ballistics program, and Leica ProTrack (LPTTM) for terrain navigation. The colour Flat Dark Earth (FDE) makes this model instantly recognisable. With the Leica Geovid Max 10x42, observation is more precise and comfortable than ever before, whilst rangefinding is even quicker and easier.
Active-matrix microLED display
The active-matrix microLED display is very bright, but preserves the full optical quality of the Leica binoculars. The display can be easily customised using the Leica Ballistics app. The selected functions and measured values are clearly legible. Distance, shot correction, hit probability, wind data, and compass are shown. Icons provide information on battery level, measurement mode, target mode, measurement unit, and Bluetooth® connection. Angle, air pressure, and temperature can be accessed via a secondary display. For greater clarity, the information shown on the display can also be reduced to suit personal requirements.
Eye-safe laser and intuitive operation
The Leica Geovid Max 10x42 delivers outstanding image quality, high detail resolution, and fascinating colour fidelity. The outer lenses also feature an AquaDura® dirt-repellent coating, and the binoculars are waterproof to a depth of 5 metres. The long-range laser measurement system of the Leica Geovid Max 10x42 is extremely fast and accurate. The exceptional range of 7500 metres (8200 yards) on retroreflective targets is achieved with a Class 1 laser. This means the laser beam is eye-safe and poses no danger to humans or animals. Even when measuring natural targets, the Geovid Max impresses with its outstanding measuring performance, reliably detecting trees at up to 4200 metres. What’s more, the measuring speed has also been significantly improved. In standard measurement mode, rangefinding takes only 0.3 seconds at up to 3200 yards. For greater distances, long-range mode is activated, with each measurement taking 1.4 seconds.
Ballistics program: Applied Ballistics Professional®
The Leica Geovid Max 10x42 can be easily paired with the Leica Ballistics app via Bluetooth® to create personalised ballistics profiles. The app also enables remote control. The powerful ballistics program, Applied Ballistics Professional®, draws on an extensive database of factory cartridges; users can also add their own gun profiles. Numerous environmental sensors are included in the calculations. To improve accuracy, Applied Ballistics Professional® takes into account parameters such as Coriolis effects, spin drift, AB custom drag models, sight scale factor, additional user profiles, and other functions. Alternatively, users can opt for the proven Leica ballistics calculator with its own database.
Shot probability and three target modes
Before a shot is fired, the Leica Geovid Max 10x42 can calculate the likelihood of a hit: ‘Shot Probability Analysis’ is shown as a percentage on the display. The calculation takes into account not only the distance, but also the type of target, measurement values, and details of the rifle and ammunition. This probability is displayed in a matter of seconds and provides additional confidence.
Measurement accuracy is improved by the choice of method. The shooter decides which target point is to be measured, choosing ‘First’, ‘Best’, or ‘Last’. Priority is then given to the smallest object size, the strongest reflection, or the greatest distance, respectively.
Navigation and locating terrain points
The Leica Geovid Max 10x42 is equipped with the Leica ProTrack (LPTTM), a system for locating terrain points, developed in-house by Leica Sport Optics. This tracking and marking system for terrain navigation offers three options for navigating to a distant target after rangefinding. Measured terrain points can be synchronized with the BaseMap® Pro subscription. You can then use your smartphone to navigate to the measured point. Other options include setting a destination marker in Google Maps or using the compass navigation of the in-app tracking function.
From 17 September 2026, the Leica Geovid Max will be available worldwide at Leica Stores, at the Leica Online Store, and from specialist retailers. The recommended retail price is 3900 euros incl. VAT.
The new Leica Geovid product range is divided into three distinct lines: ‘High End’, with the Geovid Max in the colour Flat Dark Earth; ‘Advanced’, with the Geovid Pro in Olive Green; and ‘Essential’, with the Geovid R in Black. The different colours make each product line instantly recognisable whilst also indicating its features and intended use.
