Taller de inmersión de siete días enfocado en fotografía de calle, retrato y aproximación documental dentro del contexto cultural de la Guelaguetza, los convites y la vida cotidiana en el Valle de Oaxaca. El programa combina producción en campo, sets dirigidos, análisis en aula y acompañamiento personalizado.

Las sesiones están diseñadas para desarrollar el uso consciente de la luz natural y el flash, fortalecer la toma de decisiones creativas en el momento de fotografiar y construir una secuencia visual con coherencia narrativa respetando la mirada de cada autor.

Cada jornada integra sesiones fotográficas en campo, edición y revisión crítica.

El proceso privilegia la observación, la previsualización y la relación entre intención y resultado. La fotografía se aborda como práctica de tiempo, atención y estructura. Incluye sesiones one-on-one, revisión colectiva de imágenes y orientación para la edición de una serie final.

Dirigido a

Personas con manejo funcional de cámara en modo manual que deseen profundizar en:

• Fotografía de calle

• Retrato en contexto

• Narrativa documental

• Edición y secuenciación de imágenes

Abierto a fotógrafos en formación, autores emergentes y viajeros con interés en procesos estructurados de producción. Se requiere disposición para trabajo intensivo en campo, puntualidad y participación activa en dinámicas grupales de análisis. 

Cronograma sintetizado (los participantes recibirán los detalles de las actividades al inscribirse)

• Martes 7 de julio – Llegada y cena de bienvenida
• Miércoles 8 de julio a sábado 11 de julio – Días completos de taller
• Domingo 12 de julio – Final de taller y cena de despedida
• Lunes 13 de julio – Viajes de regreso

Resultados

Al finalizar el taller, cada participante habrá desarrollado:

• Una serie fotográfica de 12 imágenes con coherencia temática y alto valor estético

• Experiencia en producción fotográfica en locaciones reales y sets dirigidos

• Control de exposición en situaciones de luz variable

• Uso básico de flash en contexto documental

• Flujo de trabajo de selección, edición y secuencia

• Criterios de lectura crítica de imagen

Se realizará una proyección final colectiva en el Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo y se entregará constancia de participación.

Oaxaca: Between Lights and Mysteries

A seven-day immersive workshop focused on street photography, portraiture, and documentary approaches within the cultural context of the Guelaguetza festival, traditional celebrations, and daily life in the Valley of Oaxaca. The program combines field work, guided shoots, classroom analysis, and personalized support.

The sessions are designed to develop the conscious use of natural light and flash, strengthen creative decision-making while photographing, and construct a visual sequence with narrative coherence, respecting each photographer's individual perspective.

Each day includes field photography sessions, editing, and critical review.

The process prioritizes observation, pre-visualization, and the relationship between intention and result. Photography is approached as a practice of time, attention, and structure. The workshop includes one-on-one sessions, a group image review, and guidance for editing a final series.

Aimed at

Individuals with functional camera operation in manual mode who wish to delve deeper into:

• Street photography

• Contextual portraiture

• Documentary narrative

• Image editing and sequencing

Open to photographers in training, emerging artists, and travelers interested in structured production processes. A willingness to work intensively in the field, punctuality, and active participation in group analysis sessions are required.

Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, each participant will have developed:

• A photographic series of 12 images with thematic coherence and high aesthetic value

• Experience in photographic production on real locations and in staged sets

• Exposure control in variable lighting situations

• Basic use of flash in a documentary context

• Workflow for selection, editing, and sequencing

• Critical image analysis criteria

A final group screening will be held at the Manuel Álvarez Bravo Photographic Center, and a certificate of participation will be awarded.
