Jørn Freddie: Unseen Perspectives
A curated selection of images from the archive of renowned Danish photographer, Jørn Freddie.

About the Exhibition

Leica Store Copenhagen is proud to present Unseen Perspectives, a curated selection of images from the archive of renowned Danish photographer, Jørn Freddie. This exhibition showcases Freddie’s vast creative ability and range of photographic work, spanning decades. Unseen Perspectives encompasses Freddie’s professional and personal experience with photography and highlights his monumental eye for composition, framing and personal connection.

Son of acclaimed artist, Wilhelm Freddie, Jørn Freddie received a visual and creative education that was completely unique. It is undoubtably this influence that inspired his career, and in 1951 Jørn Freddie graduated as a photographer, leading him to photograph for some of the most important Danish and international brands, celebrities and icons of the age.

Jørn Freddie used a medium format camera for his professional photoshoots, but it is the Leica M2 that opened up his photography to the world of reportage shooting. This is a camera he held on to until his death and is now in the possession of his grandson, and fellow photographer, Emil Monty Freddie.

Jørn Freddie left behind a collection of around 150.000 negatives, which are now safely stored at the Royal Library archive in Copenhagen.

All prints in the exhibition are for sale, please contact info@leicastore-copenhagen.com for more information.
