Leica Gallery Stuttgart

"Begegnungen und Zufälle" by Benjamin Katz
The Leica Gallery Stuttgart presents an exhibition of photographer Benjamin Katz from July 19 to October 19, 2024. Since the 1970s, Katz has accompanied many of his artist colleagues, including Georg Baselitz and Gerhard Richter. He has documented countless openings, art actions, and encounters of contemporary artists, and created portraits of significant figures such as Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, and Cindy Sherman. His archive is considered the most comprehensive collection of contemporary artist portraits. These portraits of visual artists are the best-known facet of chronicler Benjamin Katz and have brought him fame.
