Leica Gallery Stuttgart

The Leica Gallery in Stuttgart is located in Calwer Strasse 41,a lively quarter that is a popular meeting place for every stroll through the city with international restaurants, outdoor gastronomy and selected specialist shops. On two floors, Leica presents photographic art and camera technology at the highest level.

Since Leica stands for the culture of photography, the picture has a very high value, which is impressively presented in the 24 galleries worldwide. The Leica Gallery in Stuttgart also lives the culture and quality of photography. In the modernized basement, which still offers a view of the historic cellar walls, top-class photo exhibitions by German and international photographers are shown every quarter.

Current exhibition “A Pioneer of Colour Photography” - Erwin Fieger

Erwin Fieger (1928–2013) is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern color photography. Trained as a graphic designer, he published photographs from his travels in numerous photo books and received major international awards.

At the heart of the exhibition are his photographs of London from the 1950s. To this day, they are considered milestones of artistic color photography and were already featured in 1960 at photokina in Cologne as part of the legendary exhibition Magic of Color.
