In the first tutorial video, you’ll get a brief overview of the features that distinguish the SL3-P: these include outstanding image quality, reliable and fast autofocus performance, operation tailored to image-makers’ individual needs, and the Leica SL3-P’s excellent build quality.

Ready to Take the Next Step in Full-Frame Photography?

What Makes the Image Quality of the SL3-P So Special?
Its 44-megapixel full-frame sensor produces detailed DNG and JPEG files that offer exceptional flexibility during the post-processing stage. A dynamic range of up to 14 stops ensures the highest data quality and sufficient resolution to select the perfect framing later on. Its low-light performance is impressive, with ISO values of up to ISO 200,000 delivering excellent noise performance even at high ISO settings.

Why Is the Intuitive Operation of the SL3-P So Important?
Professional work demands concentration, especially when every millisecond counts. The Leica SL3-P clearly distinguishes between photo and video modes, providing quick access to essential functions. The camera supports your individual workflow, rather than interrupting it. To minimise time spent navigating submenus, you can customise all dials, as well as the home screen.

In the second video, Robin demonstrates the Leica SL3-P’s key video features. These include 8K and open-gate recording, as well as professional tools, such as False Colour and the new, user-friendly video selector for use on set.

Ready to Switch to a Hybrid Workflow?

What Makes Open-Gate Recording So Interesting for Video Production?
Open gate provides greater flexibility during the post-production process. Different formats, such as horizontal, vertical or square, can be created from the same footage. Using the full sensor area gives you enough flexibility for every framing option without cropping. This is ideal for campaigns, social media, websites and editorials, as all of these can be created using the same footage, ensuring visual consistency.

Does the SL3-P Make the Transition to a Hybrid Workflow Easier?
Seamlessly switching between photo and video mode facilitates visually consistent productions of both stills and moving images. The view angle remains consistent when switching to photo modes, and the video selector makes the many shooting options easy to use. This is a major advantage for anyone looking to switch from an existing camera system to a more streamlined photo and video workflow.

From the Set Straight into Post-Production

The production process doesn’t stop at capture. Files need to be reviewed, shared and edited, and are often quickly passed on to teams, clients or post-production professionals. The Leica SL3-P supports this process with mobile, cloud-based and desktop workflows: Leica FOTOS, Frame.io Camera-to-Cloud, and tethering with Capture One and Adobe Lightroom Classic. The third video in the series focuses on these connectivity features.

Ready for a Faster Workflow?

Why Is Camera-to-Cloud of Particular Interest to Professional Teams?
With Camera-to-Cloud, photos and video proxies can be uploaded straight from the camera to Adobe Frame.io’s cloud-based project folders via a Wi-Fi connection. This gives editors faster access to the footage, allowing them to process photos and video regardless of their location. This equates to efficiency at the highest level.

When Is Tethering Particularly Useful?
Tethering is ideal for studio, product, fashion and campaign productions involving many people. Footage can be reviewed together straight away on a calibrated screen, facilitating decision-making on set and providing greater certainty throughout the production process.
