Leica Sport Optics (Wetzlar) presents its first limited edition of a pair of binoculars for 2016: the Leica Ultravid ‘Edition Safari’. The Edition Safari appears with an exclusive case and carrying strap created in collaboration with French artisan workshop Aneas.
The Leica Ultravid ‘Edition Safari’ is available in Leica’s Ultravid 8 x 42 and Ultravid 10 x 42 models. These are each strictly limited to 100 examples globally and each binocular is marked with a unique edition serial number from 1 to 200. With its magnesium body, the Leica Ultravid is exceptionally light, despite the high light-gathering power of its 42 mm objective lenses. The dark green leather trim applied to the binoculars harmonises perfectly with the light brown leather of the carrying strap handcrafted by Aneas. The case supplied as a part of the ‘Edition Safari’ is handmade from finest-quality canvas with light brown leather details and an additional leather carrying strap. The French artisan firm, Aneas, is renowned for its use of only the finest leathers and the elaborate finishing of its products.
‘The Leica Ultravid ‘Edition Safari’ unites the best of contemporary technology with the finest materials, making this binocular simultaneously elegant and robust. This makes the ‘Edition Safari’ the ideal companion for people who appreciate highest quality in every respect,’ says Cyril Thomas, Director of Leica Sport Optics (Wetzlar).
The strictly limited ‘Edition Safari’ sets will be available from selected Leica partners from March 2016. Recommended retail price: 2,450 euros for the Leica Ultravid 8x42 and 2,500 euros for the Leica Ultravid 10x42.
