First of All...

On 65 square meters, the Leica Gallery Heidelberg opens with an exhibition showing an exclusive selection of iconic photographs that have made photographic history. First of All... includes documentary works by legendary photographers, including Barbara Klemm, Thomas Hoepker, Ralph Gibson, Joel Meyerowitz and Walter Vogel. What they all have in common is that they are recipients of the prestigious Leica Hall of Fame Award. Elliott Erwitt, this year's winner of the award, is also represented with his humorous and smile-inducing snapshots. The exhibition brings together personalities such as Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali, Steve McCurry's famous Afghan girl and fleeting snapshots that manifest the diverse expressions of photography and have become an integral part of our memory.
