Born in 1936 in Munich, Thomas Hoepker has travelled the world as a photojournalist, capturing stories of people and social issues in the last 60 years. With his photography, he has helped shaped a photographic genre that represents humanity and embraces the concerns of the underprivileged.

He has been a full member of the prestigious Magnum Photos since 1989, and has served as its president from 2003 to 2006. Presented at the Leica Gallery Bangkok are photographs selected out of Thomas' vast archive, some of which are being exhibited for the first time.
