Philipp Reinhard with the SL3
Exploring Urban Sports in Bangkok
Why does he photograph? A question that has been constantly on Philipp Reinhard's mind in recent weeks. He wanted to step away from jobs and assignments, clear his mind, and took a six-week break in Asia. "And why does he bring his camera then?" one might ask. The freelance photographer and filmmaker explains this in the short film about the Leica SL3.
He has been photographing for more than half of his life. His curiosity began on the streets: skateboarding, capturing peculiar and grand moments, and encountering interesting personalities. He loves the urban, the unplanned, the new. His work creates space for serendipity and special encounters.
The street writes its own stories. Stories that cannot be planned but simply unfold in each coming moment. Philipp Reinhard is a photographer and filmmaker, always in search of special moments, real people, and significant instances.
Back to the beginning. Why does he photograph, even when he should be disconnecting? Reinhard answers: Because he loves stories, he wants to experience and tell them always and everywhere. It's not just a job or profession, it's integral to his life.
