I’m drawn to grit, imperfections and everything that makes us uniquely human. Having tools like the Leica SL3 and M11 to help me achieve that feeling and aesthetic to my photography and is absolutely crucial to my process.

A New Meaning of Behind the Scenes

Finding the rare time to explore the streets with his camera whilst on a busy tour reveals the true meaning of behind the scenes for Ben Alexis. Eeach new location creates a personal backdrop for the whole tour experience. Switching between the M-System and the SL-System has always been a trademark of Ben's photography process, first with the Leica M (Typ 240) and now with the Leica M11. The smaller size and exceptional image quality allows him to shift his setup in these moments of down time and still capture the energy of his surroundings in immaculate clarity.

The Leica M was a camera I fell in love with the moment I picked it up, the film-like manual experience with the rangefinder, slowing down, being present. I know for a fact that I take more photos because of this camera, I’m inspired to pick it up, to use it. It feels good in your hand.

I have used both the SL3-S and SL3 and this system delivers in terms of image quality and build quality, it’s rigid and heavy, yet well-balanced. I feel very comfortable taking my SL3 into any environment - in the pit, running through the crowd, on-stage. This camera can take it.
