Current Exhibition - "Reading Time" by Donata Wenders
The exhibition comprises a collection of photo series combined with video installations. Atmospheric street photographs, picturesque motion studies, and her latest work "KOMOREBI DREAMS." These shots, taken during the filming of Wim Wenders' film "Perfect Days," offer a unique insight into Donata Wenders' artistic vision and her ability to capture intimate and atmospheric moments.
"The first time I heard the word 'komorebi' and learned its meaning during the preparations for 'PERFECT DAYS,' I was somehow touched to the core of my being. I realized: This will be the underlying current of the film, a subconscious flow in the mind of our hero, an awareness of the lights and shadows created by the sun, the wind, and the trees. Filming Hirayama's 'komorebi dreams' became my task for the film. Since then, my attention to light has changed. The search for 'Komorebi' throughout the city has rubbed off on me. I now know: They are something we receive as a gift, they come and go like grace. So I looked at them and photographed them." (Donata Wenders)
