Phil Penman in Basel Artist Talk

Phil Penman will visit Basel for a Masterclass that has been sold out for a while.

Luckily he will be doing an Artist Talk that is open for all with a maximum capacity of 80 people.

In his new book Street Scenes, Penman pays homage to the world's vibrant metropolises—from the shimmering lights of New York to the enchanted alleyways of Paris and the dynamic streets of Tokyo. Each of his images is a window into the emotional moments and impressive facets of urban life, masterfully captured through his lens. He will be talking about this book and other works and then do a booksigning in the Leica Store Basel.

About the artist:

The British-born, New York-based photographer Phil Penman has dedicated over 25 years documenting the ever-changing scene of New York City’s streets. His distinctive black-and-white approach to street photography has cemented his reputation as one of the most significant visual chroniclers of the modern metropolis. Before rising to prominence for his personal street work, Penman built a substantial career as a news and magazine photographer. Penman is also an enthusiastic educator, touring the world to teach photography workshops for the renowned Leica Akademie.
