Gestures - Auction Preview

In the exhibition Gestures, the Leica Gallery Vienna presents an exclusive preview of the Photographs Auction of the same name organized by the official auction house of Leica Camera AG, Leitz Photographica Auction.

Gestures brings together photographs such as Alfred Eisenstaedt's ‘Waiter on the Ice in St. Moritz’, Flip Schulke's shot of Muhammed Ali boxing underwater and William Klein's ‘Hand in Beirut’. In addition to Horst P. Horst's delicate portrait of a smoking Coco Chanel, a photograph of the fountain in Bad Ischl's Kaiserpark, taken by the pioneer of color photography William Eggleston, is one of the highlights of the exhibition.

In addition to classics from the history of photography by Edward Weston and Otto Steinert, numerous iconic reportage photographs, such as those by Inge Morath and Ernst Haas, as well as an exclusive selection of celebrity and fashion photographs are on display.
